Wastewater treatment is a process used to eliminate or reduce the deleterious effects of sewage or industrial waste streams generated by the food and beverage, pulp and paper and heavy industrial plants. Wastewater is treated to meet Local, State and Federal regulatory requirements. Characterization of the wastewater stream is a necessary and important step in formulating an effective treatment program.
