Removal MTBE / BETX / TCE

Trichloroethylene (TCE) is a chlorinated organic solvent which historically has been used in industrial processes and is the most common contaminant of urban groundwater. Methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) is used as a gasoline additive and is the second most common contaminant of urban groundwater. MTBE is very water soluble and enters ground water through dissolution from air during precipitation and through gasoline spills or storage tank leaks. Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl benzene and Xylenes (BTEX) are aromatic gasoline hydrocarbons and are persistent compounds in gasoline spills. MTBE, BTEX and TCE are persistent in, and harmful to the environment. In the last decade techniques have been develop to remove these hazardous compounds from our ground water via environmental remediation techniques.
