ALTIVIA is an approved distributor for the Eka Chemical's patented
SVP-Pure® (Single Vessel Process) Series of Sodium Chlorate based
Chlorine Dioxide generators. The SVP-Pure® process combines Purate®
(a stabilized pre-blended solution of sodium chlorate 40% by weight
and hydrogen peroxide 8% by weight) and 78% sulfuric acid to provide
the optimum acidity and reaction efficiency.
The generator is capable of consistently producing chlorine dioxide
with a yield efficiency of 95% based on the reaction as follows:
[NaClO3 + 1/2H2O2] + 1/2H2SO4  ClO2 + 1/2 O2 + 1/2Na2SO4 + H2O
[4.15 lb Purate®] + 5 lb Acid 1.0 lb of Chlorine dioxide
The actual chemical feed rates reflect excess sulfuric acid to promote
95% efficiency. The SVP-Pure® Series of Chlorine Dioxide Generators
does not require gaseous chlorine feed and consequently there are no
RMP issues.
Generators are available in capacities to 6,000 lb/day (250 lb/hr).
Higher capacity models also offer the capability of utilizing 93% to
98% sulfuric acid via an acid dilution module.
