Plant Operators / Supervisors / Operations Manager
Description:
Plant Operator and Supervisor perform various duties in the Chlorine
Plant, Alum Plant, or Specialties Plant including truck loading/unloading, barge
loading/unloading, making batches and blends, rail car loading/unloading, forklift
operating, and performing minor plant maintenance and troubleshooting. Must have a
high school education or GED; one to three months related experience and/or training.
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
The Operations Manager directs production of finished products or services through
activities of production personnel, activities of supervisors and managers in
performing maintenance, safety/environmental, and personnel and project management.
Evaluates performance records of chemical processes and physical operations and
reports findings to management. Develops budgets, prepares long-term planning
of capital improvements, personnel development, and site development. Negotiates
sourcing and contracts for raw materials, as well as for water and rail movement
of products.
B.S. degree in an Engineering related field and 10+ years related experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial
reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints
from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability
to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards
of directors.
